# Protocol Fees (Revenues)

Ionic is a lending protocol that derives its main revenue from the interest paid by  borrowers or earned by lenders.

By default, 10% of all interest paid is distributed to the treasury.

**Protocol revenue sources:**

* Lenders's interest fees
* Liquidation penalty fees
